Your data

Delete your account

You can delete your GigTryst account and the personal data in it at any time. There are two ways to do it: yourself, in the app, or by asking us — use the second one if you cannot sign in. Both end in the same place.

  1. Delete it yourself, in the app

Sign in, open Settings, and scroll to Delete account. It is there for both creator and brand accounts, on the web app and in the Android and iOS apps.

Before anything is deleted you are shown exactly which records are erased and which are kept, for your own account, and asked to confirm. Nothing is deleted until you do.

  2. Or ask us, if you cannot sign in

Email privacy@gigtryst.com from the address on the account, and tell us you want the account deleted. If you are writing from a different address, include the email address the account uses so we can find it.

We may need to check that the account is yours before we erase it — that is the point of the check, not an obstacle to it.

What is deleted, and what is kept

Your personal data is removed in accordance with applicable law. Anonymised transaction records are retained where financial compliance requires it — those records no longer identify you, and Indian tax and accounting rules do not let us destroy them on request.

The exact list, for your account, is shown in the app before you confirm — it is derived from your own records rather than written out here, so it is always the real one. Section 6 of our Privacy Policy states the same thing in full.

When we cannot delete it yet

There are three situations where deletion is refused until something is settled. If one of them applies, we tell you which, and name the deal or the amount:

  • You still have a withdrawable balance in your wallet.

Withdraw it first — we cannot erase the account while money is owed to you.

  • You have an active deal.

Finish or cancel it first. Deleting mid-deal would leave the other side with no counterparty.

  • An escrow is still holding funds.

That deal has to conclude so the money reaches whoever it belongs to.

None of these is a refusal to delete your account — each is money or an obligation that has to land somewhere first. Once it has, deletion goes through.
