Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

We collect your name, email address, phone number, and data from connected social media accounts (Instagram, YouTube) including follower count, engagement rate, content metrics, and other publicly available profile information. We also collect information you provide when creating your profile, such as your bio, niche tags, city, and portfolio content.

When someone opens a creator's GigTryst link, we record the click: the time, the country, the page it came from, and a scrambled form of the IP address and browser. We use this to count clicks and attribute sales.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to power influencer-brand matching, display your profile to brands on our marketplace, calculate performance metrics (such as engagement rate and conversion rate), process payments through our escrow system, and communicate with you about collaboration opportunities and platform updates.

Clicks, promo-code use and orders reported by a connected store are recorded and used to calculate creator earnings and brand fees.

3. Data Sharing

We share your profile data with brands on our platform so they can evaluate your fit for collaboration opportunities. We share payment information with our payment processor (Razorpay) to facilitate transactions. We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We deliver WhatsApp messages through Meta's WhatsApp Business service. To do this, we share your mobile number and the content of the message with Meta, which delivers it to you. Meta's own terms and privacy policy also apply to your use of WhatsApp.

4. Social Account Data

When you connect your Instagram or YouTube account, we access publicly available metrics via the Meta Graph API and Google YouTube Data API, in accordance with their respective platform policies. This includes follower counts, engagement metrics, and content performance data. We refresh this data periodically to keep your profile current. You can disconnect your social accounts at any time from your profile settings.

GigTryst uses YouTube API Services. Information retrieved through YouTube API Services is handled in accordance with the Google Privacy Policy, available at https://policies.google.com/privacy, in addition to this policy.

When you connect your YouTube account, GigTryst accesses your channel statistics, channel profile information, and public statistics for your uploaded videos, on a read-only basis. This data is used to build and refresh your creator profile and to calculate the audience and engagement metrics displayed to brands. GigTryst does not access, store, or transmit your YouTube account credentials.

You may revoke GigTryst's access at any time at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions, or by disconnecting your YouTube account in your GigTryst profile settings.

5. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption to protect your data, including encryption at rest and in transit. Social media access tokens are encrypted using AWS Key Management Service (KMS). Financial transactions are processed through Razorpay's PCI-DSS compliant infrastructure. We maintain audit logs for all administrative actions.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. You may disconnect your social media accounts at any time. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data in accordance with applicable law, while retaining anonymized transaction records as required for financial compliance.

7. Analytics

Anonymous means a random browser ID stored in a cookie; we do not send your name, email or phone number.

8. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (such as pixels and local storage) on gigtryst.com and in our apps.

• Necessary cookies keep you signed in and secure, remember your settings, and measure how our pages and ads perform. This measurement uses Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, and ad conversion measurement from Google Ads and LinkedIn. These cookies are always on.
• Optional cookies show you GigTryst ads on other sites (remarketing, including the Meta Pixel) and record anonymous sessions, using tools such as Microsoft Clarity, so we can find and fix problems. They are off unless you choose Accept in the cookie banner or turn them on in Cookie preferences.

You can change your optional-cookie choice at any time from Cookie preferences at the bottom of every page. We do not send your name, email address, phone number, or the content of your messages or deals to analytics or advertising tools. You can read how Google uses information at https://policies.google.com/privacy and opt out of Google Analytics at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings; blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of GigTryst, such as signing in, from working.

Some pages may show content from other services (for example, embedded videos) that set their own cookies. We do not control those cookies; please see that service's own policy.

9. Third-party services we use

To run GigTryst we rely on trusted service providers. Each receives only the information it needs to do its job for us, may not use it for its own purposes, and follows its own privacy policy:

• Amazon Web Services: hosting, storage, sign-in, and email and SMS delivery.
• Razorpay: payments, escrow collection and payouts. Razorpay processes your payment and bank details; we do not store card details.
• Meta (WhatsApp Business): service and deal updates to your WhatsApp number, when you have chosen WhatsApp.
• Meta (Instagram) and Google (YouTube): when you connect an account, read-only access to your public profile and performance numbers. You can disconnect at any time.
• Google (Tag Manager, Analytics, Ads), LinkedIn (Insight tag), Meta (Pixel, used only if you accept optional cookies), and session-recording tools such as Microsoft Clarity (used only if you accept optional cookies).
• Expo, Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service: notifications in the GigTryst mobile app.
• Sentry: crash and error reports from the GigTryst mobile app, with personal details removed before they are sent.

When we may disclose information: when required by law (for example a court order or other legal process); when we believe in good faith it is needed to protect our rights, your safety or others' safety, to investigate fraud, or to respond to a lawful request from a government authority; or to a successor organisation in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, under this Policy.

We do not sell your personal data.
